Do you have what it takes to be the 2016 AK Skimeister on April 2nd, 2016?

Fourth Annual AK Skimeister Challenge is CONTINUOUS again and plans are in the making for another great event with the Nordic part of the race on man made snow!

*UPDATE*

Thank you Alyeska Resort for assisting organizers to move the Alpine Leg higher up the Mountain. The first leg of the Skimeister has changed and the first leg will now begin with an Alpine Mass Start from the Top of the Tram!


Schedule of the Day

8-9am
-Registration, Lift Ticket & Bib Pickup at the ASC Race Training Center.
-Transition Zone for stashing Nordic and Bike Equipment will remain in front of the Daylodge.

9:30 & 9:40am – Tram Loads for Alpine Competitors
-Competitors are encouraged to carpool and shuttle to the tram. Please park in the overflow parking lots.

9:50am Skimeister Alpine Leg Mass Start
-Event is continuous into Nordic Leg followed by the Bike Leg.

Course Map:

  • Alpine Leg – Top Tram- Main Street – Weir – Ego Flats – Lower Bowl – International Corner – Cabbage Patch.
    Skiers are urged to proceed with extreme caution on the lower mountain. There are off-trail hazards and competitors must proceed with caution and ski within their ability level.
  • Nordic Leg – Daylodge Transition Zone Start – Climb Chair 3 Road – to Top of Chair 7 – Midway Chair 7 – Return to Transition Zone via designated Loop to Nordic Finish.
  • Bike Leg (similar bike route as 2015) – Daylodge Transition Zone Start – Climb Up Chair 3 Road to Top of Chair 7 – Down Chair 7 to Winner Creek Trail, into 5K Girdwood Nordic Loop, follow trail markers back to Winner Creek Extension Trail to Finish at Challenge Alaska.

11am-1pm – Lunch for competitors & volunteers at Challenge Alaska Building.

11am-2pm – Free demos from 907 bikes and Ski AK & Powder Hound Ski Shop

1-1:30pm – Awards Ceremony, Sponsor Recognition, AK Airline Ticket Drawing @ Challenge Alaska Building.

Lift Ticket & Hotel Information:

We will be offering race day lift tickets at registration in Alyeska Ski Club building this year so you do not have to go to the ticket office. This will streamline lift tickets if you need one. There will be 2 options for lift tickets:

$10.00 = 1 Run Race Only Ticket

$48.00 = All Day Racer Ticket
